Does Any Laptop Work as A Diagnostic Laptop?

Having the right diagnostic computer is essential for a successful medical practice. Diagnostic machines are designed to run tests accurately and provide reliable results, so it’s important that they have the right features and specifications in order to do this effectively. But what type of laptop should you use? Are there certain specs or features that need to be included? Can regular laptops be used as diagnostic laptops? In this article, we will explore these questions and more in order to help you make an informed decision when purchasing a diagnostic computer.

Types of laptops that can be used as a diagnostic laptop

Technically any laptop can be used as a diagnostic computer. It just needs to meet specific metrics.

For example, in order for Jaltest to run smoothly, we recommend that you have these specs:

  1. Intel 15-5300U (or better)

  2. 8GB RAM (or more)

  3. 128GB SSD (or more)

This is just the basic setup. Of course, if your computer has better metrics than this, then that's great.

So can you use any laptop as a diagnostic Laptop?

Yes. But also remember where you will be taking this laptop. Probably into the field where it will inevitably get dirty. So you want to make sure that the laptop can withstand those conditions.

That's why Wholefleet offers a selection of new or certified refurbished Panasonic Toughbook and rugged tablets. These can withstand rough handling, extreme weather and temperature conditions, vibration, drops and shock.
